The New Explorers

Kris Timken will present her book, The New Explorers at the North Brooklyn Boat Club on Sunday, April 3, 12:30 to 2:30pm.
The New Explorers examines encounters with the American landscape by twelve contemporary female artist-adventurers.  Kris traveled across the country to talk with these women about their projects as part of her own quest to understand how artists make meaning in landscape. One of the artists is Marie Lorenz whose Tide and Current Taxi (http://www.tideandcurrenttaxi.org/) is not only a legendary artwork in/about our waterways but, with Marie at the oars, will also ferry the author to the boatyard!
There will be a discussion, book signing and the typical high-end victuals you’ve come to expect from the boatyard hard by the Pulaski Bridge. You can RSVP here.

Come get warm & boozy with us at Dirck the Norseman (7 North 15th Street) and find out more about what’s coming up next year for us and our local waterways.
